Ladies and Gents: How did you pick your usernames?

I had two user names before AlluringAva,which was longest name and one I loved so much I kept it. I've had it for over 11 years. My first was Mina and it was named for the character from Mina in Bram Stoker's DRACULA, Dracula's love. But then I thought she was a pussy and I changed it to Leilani, my Hawaiian name for my real first name.


Then I read a biography of the late great Ava Gardner, wife of Mickey Rooney, Frank Sinatra and Artie Shaw, and I LOVE the old screen sirens of the past.Few actors compare to their beauty and intelligence and talent today. So I picked her name, because I saw the BAREFOOT CONTESSA and MOGAMBO, and I thought, what more beautiful, exotic woman could there possibly be in the world? Originally Posted by alluringava

I'm working on a new name, not necessarily for providing, but for writing a book. I've done some research and found some good ones based on similar attributes as you based your current name on. I too find Ava to have been one of the most beautiful women in the world. It still breaks my heart to know that she never stopped loving Frank. Love is definitely crazy. Anyway, back to the topic

I am a big fan of the show "Lost", and one of the characters is Kate. She was an intriguing character as she is capable of murder, but most of the time, pretty decent person. There was tension between her, Jack, and Sawyer. Jack was the straight guy, and Sawyer the bad, and during the day, I can be like Jack, but really wish I was like Sawyer. So I am lost for Kate. BTW, she slept with both guys at different times during the series.

It is a reflection of my personality.
