It wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't even an affair. Patraeus was pressured to resign under this mythical story that he had an affair with Broadwell who had interviewed him and wrote a book. Broadwell is also suppose to have spent ten years in the Military with rank. It all looks like it fits, but Iam skeptical.
