That is ridiculous. Myself and a few other ladies had a question as to the content and intent of the thread. There was no name calling or intent (at least on my part) to get the thread closed. Was just an honest critique of something we took issue with. Wakeup, you made two comments on the thread and managed to insult and (tried to to at least) shame every woman on this board. Honestly, I thought you were drunk. When the conversation has reached the point of someone referring to women as all dumb whores are the same, whores rating each other...stupid whores, where exactly is the conversation supposed to go from there? You brought it down to the lowest common denominator. I am glad the thread was closed, but not because of the original post. There's no dialogue after someone tries to shame all the women on this board by lumping them into one pejorative category.

"Whores bashing other whores" is a generic statement that whores bash other whores, and there is nothing new about that.......it can be inferred in the thread that he is referring to the OP bashing other whores......or........the pussy posse bashing the OP. But, it is not stated as such and left to you to decide how you want to interpret it.

"you're all the same" means exactly what is says.....he is saying you are all the same.

"get over yourselves" implies that you are making much to do about nothing.

You saw the word "whore" and went into a tailspin........I can only surmise that you self identified with the word in some demeaning way and understood he was referring to you.......and took offense.

This Thread was opened with a good question: why we close threads?

First and foremost, we operate on the internet where cache and bandwidth are paid for. We have tens of thousands of concurrent threads, and if ALL were open "forever" it would come at significant expense and IT-overhead to do optimize the DB accordingly. It may also affect site performance.

Keeping threads open for 30 days gives them plenty of time (according to the Admins and owners) for peeps to read, comment reply but after that they close. ECCIE has not automated the closing of threads (closed by computer when they hit day 31). Rather they technically "stay open" but we ask peeps not to "bump" old threads.

Its fairly rare that Threads get closed down because they get out of hand, but if they devolve into shouting match or bring out angry retorts, we then veer away from information exchange and entertainment into (sometimes) back and forth insults. Sometimes those die an "early death" and get closed, but again rarely.

This particular thread has devolved. If it veers further into insults on particular provider's sensitivity level, it may become suitable for the recycle bin? Most often its best to let it be.

If Eccie operates on limited bandwidth wouldn't shorter incorrect explanations be in order here? You offer more opinions than facts. You are speculating as to what people find informative and entertaining. My guess is all the people closing their accounts lately is due to finding this place neither informative or entertaining. Just an opinion from someone who likes being entertained.
Maybe Eccie should devise a credit system that gives each member including mods a certain amount of data to conserve bandwith?
