For those that question if this is really "haggling", I guess it depends on how you define the word. He called her up with the expressed intent of paying no more than $50 for the session. Anyone who has spent any time here at all knows that is not a rate a typical ECCIE provider would offer.
When she gave him a price, he declined and hung up. She called back and asked how much he wanted to spend. He said he had "$50 burning a hole in his pocket". She agreed.
Now, this might not have been a prolonged negotiation at the used car lot or third world flea market, but to me it's the same result. He wanted something for a much cheaper price than market (at least as defined in the ECCIE world), and held out until he got it.
Maybe I'm wrong and that isn't technically haggling, but it is unseemly all the same.
