Is this a new thing?

So it's been a few years, but I decided to pop in again and I've noticed something that I have not seen before. A couple of times already, I've gotten a request for $$ as a form of vetting. One time, my CC company flagged the charge as questionable and the second time the provider just disappeared after saying yes but never getting her 'sign up' information.

So is this a real thing, or is this a new scam and just run? Originally Posted by pablue1230

Many clients send them without hesitation and often offer them despite the provider not having a strict policy in place.

I also know of several providers who offer payment plans in which the client pays what he can when he can until he has accrued enough credit for a date. It’s certainly not unheard of.

At any rate, I’m not sure what service you were using that flagged your card but I’d consider that a good thing. Your bank was looking out for you. I Recently tried to pay someone using Venmo and it was flagged but the same payment to the same recipient from the same bank went through with Cashapp. Different banks have different policies regarding these services.

I can’t say one way or another if what you encountered was legit or a scam, but I can say that It is a somewhat common practice.

Have a nice day everyone

It’s a complete scam. This explains how the scam works in detail. https://theonlinedatingscams.com/age...fication-scam/

This is about one of the specific sites that show up on the credit card

My lawyer has a retainer. Tattoo artists require depo. Dentist n barber got cancellation fees. Used to have a trainer n if I canceled I still had to pay for my session. Why should this be diff? Originally Posted by bigdickdaddydom

If someone Is happy and satisfied with what they are getting, who are we to judge?

I'll consider getting a payment plan only if I get a discount like I do at hosting sites or paid content sites.

I'm not paying ahead of time for nothing, u gotta automatically suspect a scam right outta the gate when this happens, I don't care about whatever they say, verification purpose, let me know ur real by sending money first blah blah blah, a simple alternative is, let's meet for a cocktail or coffee, I don't care how hot they are or look, no money until we meet, when it happens to me, I delete the number and move on....
