As a provider, I get tested regularly. In fact, more often that I probably need to.

As far as hobbyists go, well my guess (and I mean no disrespect) is that most do not get tested. Fact of the matter is that most people don't get tested except when they have a problem.

If you're concerned, Planned Parenthood will provide testing for quite cheap. There's also a place just east of downtown that is run by Travis county.
