My take is that they have a cutting-edge package that could be a game changer of sorts if they pick the right war and enemy to fight. Otyher weapons will be adapted or modified to use the 6.8x51 cartridge, so logistics may be streamlined some. I have heard that NATO will go that way too.

American Rifleman leave me so ill-informed? An explanation of how they manufacture a 2-metal cartridge would be of interest to me. The lower-pressure 'practice' cartridge looks kinda ho-hum for civilian use, and I don't see the high-pressure one ever getting to the civilian market. Out of my price range anyway, but fascinating.
