* + * FALLING IN LOVE WITH CLIENTS/PROVIDERS? * + *

Angelina along with everyone else sounds very informative on this, I guess because everyone has been thru it? Myself, being an older (gentle)man, I've seen only one provider more than 3 times over a period of a couple years just because she could be available on short notice. Maybe it's my fear of making a connection that just can't happen in my case. Although, a few times on a first meeting I thought I've felt a connection, no doubt my feelings only, but, it truly felt like it was making love, not the typical pay your money and do your thing. The 'falling for the other person thing' only brings back memories of being young and growing up and falling in love, you all remember how that was? I guess my age and experience lets me keep the reigns on my emotions now, even though I sure wish I could follow them at times, but I know it's only temporary, infatuation, so it is easier to ignore.
Could it be that many of us are involved in hobbying because of our past? Originally Posted by h-d

Angelina, I think there are many providers and hobbyists out there that are great people, I mean by that, they are good people who just haven't found their partner in life, and I include you in this. Doesn't matter what the circumstances are in meeting him/her. Look at how many have met thru work or business related matters, vendors and their customers. You're a vendor and I'm a customer. Treat your business like a business, but it shouldn't stop you from making a connection with a client, if you feel right about it.
If I could act on my emotions, there would maybe be two providers I have seen that I could be serious about, but most of the time I would just like to ask one out for a date, maybe take a trip with her on the motorcycle and feel like a kid again. I think I'm going thru my fourth middle-aged crisis. But I'm still having a great time.
If you see it, don't let it pass you by sweetheart.
Whether we care to admit it or not, I'm sure many of us have fallen in love with a provider and vice versa. Like others have said, it is not that much different from meeting someone at work, or meeting a customer, or hiring somebody's services in another field of work. For a single hobbiest like myself or for providers that are single, it is probably much more common.

I have met some great women throughout the years. Although I don't hobby "lookin for love", I would not be opposed to a relationship if both parties felt the same way. There are a couple of women I have seen that I wouldn't mind pursuing something further, but they would have to be the ones to bring it up. I will be just as happy continuing to P4P. However, IMO, the only way a relationship originating from this business can have long-lasting success is if both parties retire from the hobby world permanently. If one or both continue to play, I believe it will eventually end in disaster.

I have been down this road once before. I always tell myself never again. However, if I met the perfect woman, my defenses would most likely fall, and I would probably try again knowing the odds of success are very slim. Sometimes you take a chance and get burned, and sometimes you take a chance and are well rewarded.
