And that’s basically it.

And I had to stop, because it is complete and utter horseshit. As someone that more identifies with the TeaParty than any other, I can tell you its shit. And as someone that has followed that movement since its infancy, I have NEVER heard anything of the sorts. In fact, the ONLY time you hear about how TP's are a bunch of racists that want the rich richer and the poor poorer, is coming out of liberal mouths, without a SHRED of evidence to back that thought. In fact, a large majority of the TP supported Hermann Cain for president in the early days....not sure how having a black man as president aligns with that thought.

The TP wants less government, less regulation, less interference in our lives, and wants to protect our constitutional rights, most importantly those in the bill of rights....

There is NO room left for race or class warfare in our nation, and if you want to know where the majority of it comes from, you need to look no further than the liberal side of the aisle....that same side that wants to give amnesty to as many illegals as possible, because they know they will vote on their ticket. NO other reason. The side of the aisle that "stands up for the minorities such as blacks" for no other reason than they know by giving more and more handouts to the portion of that demographic that wants the handouts, that they can further control their votes and lives.

The TP is sick and tired of BOTH sides slowly errording EVERY Americans rights, in an attempt to further control the country, and maintain their power. The TP wants to take our fucking country back to be a country that is FOR the people BY the people.

Back on the gun control issue, I'm sorry, but my government has shown time and time again that I cannot trust ANY "panel" to decide if I am fit to carry. When we live in a country where the leaders use the IRS to target people that dissent, I can no longer trust any "impartial" panel to decide if I get to keep my constitutional rights.

I have no issue continuing the debate, but the fact is, you are never going to convince me that the answer to ANY problem facing our country is giving MORE power to the govt and taking more rights away from the people. Sorry, we played that game with the NSA, and sacrificing our rights for better security, Im not about to start letting that creep into other areas if I can help it.

As the saying goes, "When you are willing to trade liberty for security, you deserve neither." (I would cite Ben Franklin for that, but its not sure if he is the one that actually said it.)

I honestly think the biggest reason for politicians wanting more gun control has NOTHING to do with public safety, and EVERYTHING to do with making sure we are not a well armed society when the masses finally get fed up....ironically, the basis for why the second amendment exists.

You people are so steeped into 13th century politics till it ain't even funny. Newsflash. This country is moving forward without you. Fact is we are not taking our country back...not back to those dark days you so desire, or so it seems ;-)

But our Constitution doesn’t set up a nation for that. Our Constitution has:

  • Ended slavery
  • Given women the right to vote
  • Ended segregation
  • Given women the right to choose what to do with their own body
  • Provided a pathway for immigrants to become American citizens
  • Separated church and state
  • Ended segregation
  • Given us the Civil Rights Act of 1965
  • Protected voting rights
  • Begun protecting same-sex marriage rights
  • Defended “Obamacare”
  • Protects the right to keep and bear arms

Also, the constitution didn't defend "obamcare" a court decision in the judicial system did. The constitution doesn't say anything about same sex marriages. Furthermore, the legislative branch passed the Civil Rights Act with much persistence from the then leader of the executive branch the President Lyndon Johnson. Finally, "women's rights"...legal abortion was another court decision...judicial branch.

Some people including this author must have slept though history//government is school.
