It was a nice performance and she used her platform to make a political statement as many performers, black and white, have done throughout history.

Barack Obama is not responsible for dividing America. That division was already there, unfortunately always has been. Hell, you can tell that from this board. All Barack Obama did was GET ELECTED! The hidden racist came out after that. The media has blown up racial situations whenever possible for RATINGS.

If you want an accurate portrayal of what the Black Panthers were about watch this from PBS...

I don't think her song, performance, or video is the most historical moment. I do think they are noteworthy and specific manifestations of the current cultural and political climate. And I agree Obama is not responsible for dividing America. And Beyoncé isn't responsible for the accusations of "race baiting" when she expressed herself as an artist. In fact, many legendary contemporary musicians have made even more bold and politicized statements. Also, I did get the opportunity to go to a live Independent Lens screening. Stellar documentary work! Thanks for sharing.
I concur!

Not to mention, she has a superb TEAM. She surrounds herself by the best. Very good business woman. As an Africana Womanist, I love how she exudes strength regarding her family. Originally Posted by Eva Damita

Beyonce- Me.myself and I..... Destiny's Child-Girl
This is too hilarious; I just went down a rabbit hole looking up different animated versions of Solange vs. Jay Z

I learned something about America while watching the Super Bowl.
I learned that if you're a middle aged caucasian male from Long Island who owns a Dukes of Hazzard slot car, you're a racist!

Do you mean, paying homage to the "Rebel Flag" or "Confederate Flag"?
The Dukes Of Hazard is a fine show, the car is nice, but if idealism of one idea begins to be more unpopular with educated masses in this country, we begin to see the "Rebel Flag" as a negative image.
I don't know if that, acceptance of or pride in the "Confederacy" makes a person a "Racist" specifically.
There are more people who associate the "Rebel Flag" and "KKK uniforms" and "Swastikas" with terrorism than "Black Panther Uniforms" or "Live Free Or Die Flags" or "The Declaration Of Independence Signed In 1776" as being against freedom and liberty.

But...if you're a thick thighed, half caucasian fading pop star who's leading a military formation march in homage of a radical sixties terrorist organization (who routinely killed and attempted to kill United States police, military and private citizens)...you should be applauded and celebrated as a visionary.

Her thick thighs do look yummy, huh ...
And such lovely light she is giving as she fades ... I could only wish to hold half of the light she shines at any point in my lifetime.

Black Panthers did damage in the name of fighting for freedom, and justice, not that I know all of the history ...I do believe you, that they were violent and killed people.
Obviously they believed, and others believe that the cause of ending the oppression of different races, and demanding equality as Americans was a good cause.
It is difficult to have sympathy for a cause that wants to keep Negros as slaves, or not allow Negros to drink out of public water fountains, like the culture of "The Confederacy" was fighting for.
What other groups initiated violence in the name of enslaving others, in the name of unprovoked destruction, who killed people for the color of their skin?

Shame on you...ALL of you who think this is 'okay' or much ado about nothing, no matter the color of your skin!
You've allowed the Barack Obama's, Al Sharpton's and Jesse Jackson's of America to do EXACTLY as they set out to do — create the biggest racial divide since the civil rights era!
If you had ANY common sense or backbone, you would put your money where your mouth is and boycott Beyoncé, her record label, the NFL and ANY of the Super Bowl's associated sponsors until they NEVER again even think about allowing this kind of RACE BAITING to take place again!

If you're going to take a stand against indifference to something that is important to you, I'm sure you can find something less selfish and self serving.
Sheesh.

Beyonce isn't my role model, but I admire her for showing that women can be about more than just shaking their booty on the cheer squad, looking pretty, and always saying what everyone else wants to hear.

Now how does this so called "Racial Divide" get started?
Do you think Obama, Jackson, and Sharpton set out to have racism and oppression as a struggle they wanted to waste their time enduring, or would they have rather had the luxury to kick up their kickers and watch a "bigot approved" half time show, while watching the Super Bowl, and eating some Doritos, and hot wings, and drinking some beer?
Hmm?
Don't you think they'd love to set out to not have this issue to face at all, or maybe they traveled back in time and set the wheels in motion to make people racist and psychopaths and begin slavery?

It's supposed to be about yardage, hot wings, beer, and Doritos commercials you worthless degenerates!
THIS is one of the many reasons why America is swirling the crapper because people turn a blind eye and refuse to denounce such FILTH and DIVISION! Originally Posted by capitan1962
