Why is returning punts “dangerous”? You can call a fair catch and the rules state you have to give the returner room to catch the ball. I know from experience. I’ve played with a lot of them. They’re more like center fielders. They track high balls, catch them. Then they run. They’re not paid a lot of money unless they’re elite at another position. Like Sanders, Woodsen, AB etc. I don’t think Simms or Gunner are madmen. Just little guys who can track and catch punts.
