Definition of a Courtesan and her Clientele...Agree?

Since I am new, maybe I don't have the requisite experience to answer intelligently. I think I came into this whit a very naive delusion about what this experience might be like.

Based on your definition in the initial post, Lily, I would say that is very close to what I was seeking and what I thought would happen. What I have found, in my very, very limited experience is something which bears no resemblance to what you describe.

What you describe, for comparison purposes, sounds very much like a visit to a five star restaurant, where the food is excellent, but the dining experience surpasses even the food.
What I have experienced thus far more closely resembles a drive thru at Jack-in-the-Box after the bar has closed at 2 am. Cars in front of me, cars behind me, so hurry up and get thru the line, pay your bill, and move on.

ASPD was the place I learned about connection, multiple-hour dates, engagement at physical and mental levels, and how to pursue that model. If you do some digging into thesis and the like where people have actually done substantial research into courtesans, you will find that a courtesan is a woman who wishes to maintain a lifestyle to which she has become accustomed, not create such a lifestyle. That is why so many self-proclaimed courtesans are dismissed, regardless of how successful they may be at securing the trappings of wealth. You would be maintaining a the kind of privileged life you were born into. Women who traditionally became courtesans were those with brothers who would inherit the wealth upon the parents death and who did not wish to marry to secure their wealth.
