They will be back in Dallas for another Super Bowl, this was a freak storm that not only hit Dallas but most of the country and the fact Cowboys Stadium is the best stadium in the world alone will get them future Super Bowls.

Indy & NY/NJ are contractually locked in & will happen, but if either of them are a disaster, I think it will be a long time before Dallas sees another one.

One thing that will happen as a condition before Dallas gets another one is the Emergency Response System (plows, salt trucks etc.) will have to be dramatically upgraded. It isn't so much how much snow, but a lack of readiness for it.

LOL, they ran out of de-icing fluid. Looks like I finally leave on Sunday.
Having lived in Dallas for 25 years, the storms are becoming less and less freaky. Blame global cooling.

The NFL is awarding Superbowls to cities stupid enough to spend $500 Million or more on new stadiums.

Time for another ice bowl....? [You need a few gray hairs for this comment.]
HBO aired a documentary last night on Vince Lombardi and the spent some time on the "Ice Bowl" and events leading up to the game (keeping the field covered, it got moist and when exposed if froze {hey, sounds like a date I had in high school}). Anyway, it was a great piece on Lombardi, his teams, the players and folks who worked for him. They even interviewed his son.

from a friend on facebook in the Midwest:

Krogers is a Zoo. A Perfect Storm: 1. first week of the month/gov't checks. 2. Superbowl weekend. 3. 6" snow forecast overnight
Bah humbug. Team with best record should have home field advantage no matter where they are located. Works for the other sports just fine. If a team like Green Bay has the best record they earned the right to play it in the cold weather they are used to. Originally Posted by discreetgent

It's Cold & Icy. It Sucks. It's supposed to warm up Saturday and Sunday

Actual Game should be fine but economically it is a big loss for DFW businesses.

Here's a good article: National media not painting pretty picture of Dallas-Fort Worth amid 'crazy' winter weather

The Super Bowl is more about Business & Sponsors and a bunch of other stuff that has nothing to do with Football. Folks can bitch and moan about that, but it is a business and the hype & hoopla is part of it. If people don't like it then they shouldn't watch, worry, or comment about it.
