.. Bush I's decision was politics and anticipation of an upcoming election....everything else is hindsight ... including WTF's bullshit based on "after the fact" information.
Rehashing the "results" based on the initial decision is almost impossible from a point of view of what it "could have been"!
FYI: The Japanese did the same post-Pearl Harbor. They didn't finish!
As for "current event" value ... a clear, concise and "to the point" message of dire consequences followed by a swift, precise, and overwhelming response will prevent others from making stupid decisions ... and miscalculating the U.S. .... A problem is for about 10 years the World has seen indecision and equivocation and one deadline after another (lines in the sand!) being ignored and "reset" ... with copious amounts of criticism and whining "at home" by the voters with the LIBERAL/ANTI-WAR media cheerleaders .... THE WORLD AND OR ALLIES quit taking us serious.
Now the CIC is being ..... well ... that's what this forum is about
: the microcosm of the U.S.
There was a good reason why former North Vietnamese when to Baghdad to talk to Saddam before the Kuwait mess. They were schooling Saddam on how to beat this country. Drag it out! The weak-kneed pansies making all the noise would end it. ...
