the account is a bit hazy. its said that a white person approached a black veteran who was armed and tried to take the weapon away from him. the weapon went off in the process. the riots/lynching blew up from there.
official reports say 30 - 50 dead.
I read one claim that there were 300 dead.
10,000 were interned in camps.
mass graves found, its possible that was from influenza epidemic. but who knows.
