Obamacare

Dr Ben Carson would do an excellent job of running the health care system. We need him and not the clowns in Washington. Who wants a politician deciding when to pull the plug on granny.
I bet if a Democrat is elected president, he will eliminate Obamacare!

Damn I hate getting drawn into these type of discussions!

You are entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. The people added because of the expanded eligiblity are covered by the federal govt for 3 years at 100% after that it tapers down to 90% federal payment nine years later. What Texas said (Rick Perry) was that after 10 years the cost would be too much to bear. I will point out that a minority of states turned down the federal money and the expansion. Uninsured people in Texas get care. Just ask any of the large county hospitals what their unpaid care bills are. It is estimated Texas hospitals provide over $5 billion a year. In FY 2012 Parkland provided $685 million. Guess where that hidden cost ends up? Originally Posted by slowmover

The premiums at my two businesses have gone down since we got an ACA policy. Our premiums used to be $1,900-something/employee+kids. Now they are high $1,300- something/employee+kids. Saved he a shitload of money for me. Over $100,000 extra in my pocket.

Come on ladies....check your facts. You're slamming on the half-black president because both houses of Congress passed a law invented by Republicans?

Please read this before flaming me......

It will be worse when fully enacted than the care provided by the VA. Did you miss those headlines and press ?

Back to fraud and greed, there is A LOT of fraud in the insurance business - medical, auto, home, etc. Getting the federal govermnet involved is only going to make it worse. Hopefully the next President (be it Pub or Dem) will not waste time and energy trying to repeal the ACA, but will work within the framework of the legislation and restructure the responsibly to the states and local government so there is an objective measure of policies over time based on how well certain states handle their system.

But that would make too much sense so we are fucked either way. Get your lube folks.

Texas declined because the government only subsidizes it for two to three years. After that, Texas would have to pay the full Originally Posted by OldLRRP

Alternatively: thanks greedy and we'll to-do businesses who would rather increase their bottom line instead of take a marginal hit to take care of their employees!

I loved this conversation at our business. 5% cost increase to guarantee employees feel secure about their health and have them be happy to work for us, leading to an increase in productivity and thus more profits? I'll take that all day.
