Bin Laden Dead Part II, the photos

Does anyone actually believe OBL is not dead? I think taking the high road, (not showing pictures) gives the USA moral points and keeps Al Qieda from using the pictures as a recruiting tool. As for kill or capture I think probing his mind would have been sweet but if it creates stepped up kidnappings and suicide bombings to negotiate OBLs release, got to believe it was kill all the way and an early report said CIA did the kill shots but lots of early facts have been proven wrong.
Good Poll Kosher.

The Obama administration made a mistake by dumping the body into the ocean before some type of independent verification. Its just not the US who wants to see confirmation, its the rest of the world. Our credibility isn't what it has been and this doesn't raise it.

I'm not buying any of the 'aggravate our enemy' and 'endanger the troops' assertion on this one. We killed bin Laden, their leader. Showing them a pic would only cause further al Qaeda demoralization.

Didn't Obama promise 'transparency?' This would have been a great time to deliver. But as I've written in other threads expect the photo to be leaked around Oct 30, 2012. Originally Posted by gnadfly

All you have to do is look at how Obama's approval has for the first time skyrocketed because of this event [and how it came immediately after his campaign began] to see the strangeness of this coincidence.

There is no evidence that he was not killed, but no evidence that he was.

It could very well be that it didn't happen at all. Like most events of this kind there will probably never be a conclusive resolution.

The only real reason why anyone believes it is because it's believed that our government wouldn't perpetrate such a hoax. Those who believe the government would never do that will accept that it happened, and those who believe they would will have grave doubts. Because of my personal experience I am among the latter. However even the public at large should have skepticism given the other lies that this government has perpetrated against the American people to further it's agenda, such as, the entire case against Saddam Hussein. No informed person believes anymore that it was anything other than a complete fabrication.

Unfortunately there are some black hats in the government who have made themselves available for these kinds of hoaxes, and to do so in such a way that they are not accountable.

The only possible reason why there could be a kill order on bin-Laden would be to silence him because his information might be counter to what certain people would want revealed.

and releasing photos MAY demoralize some, but undoubtedly would enrage others. the idiot Palin wants to show them as a warning to anyone against America. they ARENT afraid of strapping bombs on and blowing themselves up, but they'll be afraid of getting shot. brilliant. breaking news: these people dont think like us

the White House doesnt need to release anything - 98% of the world accepts the overwhelming evidence...do you really think the administration would do all this if it wasnt true when they have ZERO control over a new bin Laden video getting released proving he is alive? not to mention Pakistan would have to be complicit, and there is no amount of money worth the position they are in right now both with their own people and the rest of the world

Thr more opportunities you allow evil, brainwashed jihadists to behead western reporters, the worse a job you're doing in the spin control department.

Osama had no chance. Had be bin captured then we'd be up to our necks in hostage trade antics, planes, trains, buildings. Beheadings? JESUS! FUCK THEM. They need to know that WE WILL KILL YOU. And then start fucking with Americans at home and abroad and meet your virgins pronto.

What steams so many of the more hawkish commentators is that Obama's folks found him, confirmed his locatoin, moved in and took him out. Short time expenditure. REAL RESULT. Whereas, his predecessor couldn't find his way out of an HEB recyclable shopping bag and spent 8 years jerking off while spewing forth lies to help his absolute destruction of the US and World 'Economies

Yet this was a great man?

Great for the bad guys.

It's good to be kicking ass and taking names again.

2.Yes it's always simpler to just kill someone accused of a capital crime, but that's not our system. Yes you can claim that the President has wartime powers [as Lincoln did to trash the constitution during the war between the states] but that doesn't make it a real war, only the claim of one for expediance. The acts of terrorists are criminal acts, not wartime acts. War is something that occurs between governments, not a government bothered by small groups of people bent on violent action.

A lot of people have gained in their agendas by making this a wartime issue, but it's been terribly counter-productive. Declaring war on some small group of people only elevates their status and empowers them. If they had been dealt with as the morons and nuisances that they are they would have a lot less power...but then we couldn't have invaded Iraq with the FBI could we?

bin-Laden, Khalid Sheik Mohammed and these other idiots should be brought in handcuffs into a court room in New York so the world can see their humiliation as the criminals they are.

By making them military targets you make them wartime fighters instead of criminals, and that's not good.

While I voted against releasing the photos, I wouldn't mind seeing photos of that porn stash they're now talking about!
btw...

Our system of public trials and limited government power is something our forebearers fought and died for.

I had relatives in Germany who supported the Nazis for the same reasons now put forward for why we should operate the War On Terror in the lawless way we have. Those that survived their war lived to regret having signed away their system of justice for the sake of "security."*

*Unlike the US, which is based on the English system of Common Law and representative government, we Germans never really had that anyway, at least in 1933 for only a few years and it hadn't produced much benefit.
