Why is discrimination acceptable for some people?

If you believe in limited government, the Constitution, the right to bear arms, and free speech you will be discriminated.

Since 1948 (when the Dixiecrats tried to win the White House) Byrd is on record voting against Civil Rights, voting against black judges, and voting for more plantation style entitlements. Though both Byrd and Thurmond believed in segregation in 1948, Thurmond did not join the Klan, Thurmond was the first Southern Senator to vote for black judges, Thurmond was the first Southern Senator to have black staffers and here is one more thing; Byrd was not considered a Southerner. He was a racist by choice and not by upbringing.
