Oh, fuck.... now you're telling us maybe it doesn't happen? Earlier you said you could almost guarantee it!

Wait you asked a rhetorical question if I'm trained as a lawyer and then told me don't act like I know things. I'm not a practicing lawyer no, but I know enough. I get by.
You're using semantics here. The clause says compensations. So from now on I will say compensations for you, ok? The word I use doesn't take away from what will happen. It's not absurd to point out that a foreign government pays money to the guy. And as for Washington, maybe if you would read more and talk out of your ass less, you would see that Congress can decide if something is ok to allow. And since I wasn't around doing the time, I would assume that it was allowed or uncontested.
I'm glad the guy isn't taking a salary, considering all the things we are paying for. Like the increased cost to the secret service to secure Trump Tower. Or the increases we will have to make to his hotels around the world because they will become targets to those who want to make a statement against him. Or how about the fact that the guy is still going to make money from his company while in office. Him not collecting a check is like the CEO of large companies who take a dollar for their annual salary. They made billions in stock, the dollar was for show. Trump is going to make more than the $400,000. Now if he wants to not make a cent off his company, the four years he's in office, take the $400,000. If not, can't have it both ways.
I rewatched the presser and he did say foreign governments. So maybe he will do that. That would be good. Just a small gesture but a nice one. As for Trump Tower, I know what it is. Didn't say it was a hotel. I said things that he controlled (i.e. D.C. hotel/Trump Tower).
