And this thread isn't suppose to criticize my actions it was suppose to determine what species this spider was. So if you can't stay on topic then please do not comment. I don't need anymore negativity from you guys.
Well jemma are you gonna feed it? I mean you just got it in a jar for now it has to eat right? Or are you gonna let it starve to death? I'd rather be squashed than starve. Originally Posted by trey

Haven't any of you people seen "Kingdom of the Spiders?" "Arachnophobia?" "Eight-Legged Freaks?" "Tarantula?" And then there's the upcoming "Spiders 3D," eeeeeeeek!

There are over 35,0o0 known species of arachnids in the world, but scientists do believe many more are yet undiscovered, so good luck to you. However, while I'm pretty mellow with critters and usually believe in live and let live, when we're talking about most spiders....SPLAT.

Seen too many creepy movies, had too many dogs bitten by the nasty buggers (particularly the Brown Recluse) to be sympathetic, plus there was that psyche-defining experience when I was 5 with a Black Widow and my toy box. SPLAT, SPLAT, SPLAT, and SPLAT!

A good question, Texanfan, although I'm more curious about whether or not the spider allowed itself to be touched on the chest.

Take a spider speculum and and a magnifying glass(the higher end spider speculums have the magnifying glass built in. ijs) and look up his ass. If the silk is white it is a common southeast texas back door spider. If the silk is reddish brown then its one of them endangered Angleton tarantula wolf recluses. They're mean buggers...kill it immediately, remove the stinger and feed it to your dog. They just happen to also be high in protein.
