There is cheap real estate in Arkansas and in upstate NY near Rochester, and in the upper peninsula of Michigan. But companies and people aren't moving to those places, are they?

They are moving to Texas because of NO income tax, low sales tax, and relatively low property taxes. I know a lot of people may cringe at my saying "low property taxes", but that is only because they have never paid NY state property taxes.

Couple that with low regulation, cheap power, and a pro-business climate, and people move here. And, yeah, the cheap real estate does help, but only a little.
