+1 - Not sure there is a "bad" word, offensive to some segments yet, but "bad", probably not. Those who disagree convince me otherwise. With controversial words, IMHO, context, intent, audience and frame of reference are everything. If you only have a current or anti-intellectual frame of reference perhaps there can be bad words in your mind, but that is a very limited interpretation. That said I definitely tend not to use certain words, the one we are talking about among them because you have to be very careful to not be completely misinterpreted so it often isn't worth the effort unless it will be successful.
Funny this came up just now. I have recently used the "bad" N-word twice to make a point, by quoting others who used to bad word to do good by making a point about racism and discrimination. I only used it as a quotation and a quotation of art. The two artists referenced could probably never be accused of being racists by any sane person, and besides they are artists making an artistic point.
