That's actually pretty standard for a defendant with no prior record and probably good behavior while serving her time. I've seen cases where defendants got parole after 2-3 years.
This entire incident was an unfortunate accident.

I saw Botham Jean's sister on the News, saying she was opposed to parole.

My smart ass humor kicked in. "Why?! Your Brother got the fucking street named after him, and DPD Headquarters is 2 bloacks away from your Brother's apartment, those poor Officers have to drive on that street every day and be reminded that they killed him.
