This shooter is an ex Navy guy. They are saying on the news that he had some serious mental health issues, and was an IT computer guy, who had several incidents in the past with the law for shooting his gun. He has one deadly conduct charge. They also are saying he made attempts to go the VA for help with his mental health and had frequent black outs. They enterviewed some of his friends who said he was pretty docile and kind when they knew him, and he pretty much kept to himself playing shooter video games when he wasn't working. He had a pass to get onto the naval base.

So nope, not a terrorist, sounds like someone with a serious mental health issue who had no business owning guns again.

I think the emphasis on the why here is more the fact that this guy was mentally ill. That might be the reason he was honorably discharged from the Navy. Since the military right now has a huge problem with the VA giving help to the mentally ill veterans, or those suffering from severe PTSD (they have a back log), that just demonstrates once again that an untreated mental illness is at play here. I still think they should keep a database of people who suffer from psychiatric disorders to bar them from getting guns in my opinion. But I don't think that will happen with the NRA lobbying and blocking any gun reform or gun legislation.

Hey btw, Buddists are not as peace loving as people think. There are a ton of Youtube video's and news reports of buddists killing muslims in the most heinous ways, and we are talking children and women, not just men. One news video I watched was a bunch of Buddists chasing a 13 year old boy in a field and hacking him to death in a field. Another video showed Buddists beating a Muslim woman to death in a street. About 50 in the battalion: officer and enlisted. They carried them everyday in Afghanistan. Other units appeared to be similarly equipped.
