trying to drive us back on topic. I think it's clear to truly be banned for life takes a lot. there are probably only a handful of people who are truly banned from this. many handles do sneak back on but when they are caught they are banned again.

Yes it does take A LOT to get banned for life. Bigdog0311, FWOG, Tara Evans, etc. Pretty serious issues. Even if they are let back on under the same handle they should be held accountable for what they have done to cause real world disasters to others in the hobby.

My best idea on how to deal with banned members would be to start a banned thread with links and see what happens to it. It would have to be done by someone who has extensive knowledge of board history and where to find all those threads bc a simple search won't do you any good.

If it doesn't work out in coed you can always try to start one in the OPM if you want. Not sure if the same rules apply or not.

Sorry the bigger point of your thread got derailed OSBG. It really is a worthwhile discussion. I hope something good comes of it. Hopefully some other posters come in to offer more solutions to the issue you presented.

It seems that some people seem to really act like they actually care about the fact that someone was outed, or that someone was Banned for life and allowed to come back.

I can tell you this from my experience with being outed by someone very popular on this board, if it didn't happen on the board then it should be kept off the board, at least that is what the MODs said at the time. ECCIE doesn't give a damn about what happens off the board to affect anyone's life outside the hobby even if you can provide proof that it happened not only to me but other hobbyist as well, and to be honest with you I can see why they would take that stance on some things. So it doesn't surprise me that someone with a lifetime bann would be allowed to come back after a while.

It is up to us, to protect ourselves individually and not depend on anyone else on this SHMB or any other to provide that for us. Just my 2 cents.

Unlike you, I play by the rules and treat others how I would like to be treated. That keeps me from having to do the things you have to do. I really have to laugh at the WKs who try and say that you are a nice person. They obviously haven't been on your bad side.
