its a good thing Walton and Gates dug wells for their water and grew their own food or they would have had to rely on someone else just to stay alive ..

Yes, a person is only successful because of government. Therefore, we must bend over forwards and accept whatever government wants to shove up our ass, because without government, we'd be nothing. Individual initiative, hard work and risk taking are meaningless. Only government can insure our success.

What bullshit.

The roads weren't built so businesses could grow. Roads were built because the business was already there. The internet wasn't expanded to give access to business, business grew and the internet expanded. Wells weren't dug so business would show up, wells were dug because business was already there.

You people are fools. The only reason a successful business person may owe anything to government is if the government gets out of his/her way.

By the way, successful businesses have already paid for their roads, water, internet, etc. It's called taxation. What more do you clowns want?

The statement the President made in the OP shows clearly he hasn't the intelligence or sense to lead a free society. He must be replaced.

Flame all you want. I know you will. But just ask a few successful small businesspersons in your area what they think of what the President said. I'd be interested in their answers.

The problem is he actually believes it.
He thinks of business the same way he thinks of colonialism.

I don't know who said that, but it's pretty accurate. Originally Posted by CuteOldGuy

Here are two Romney quotes from today.

"There are a lot of people in government who help us and allow us to have an economy that works and allow entrepenuers and business leaders of various kinds to start businesses and create jobs. We all recognize that. That's an important thing."

And...

"I know that you recognize that a lot of people help you in a business. Perhaps the banks, the investors. There's no question your mom and dad. Your school teachers. The people that provide roads, the fire, and the police. A lot of people help."

Different words, but exactly the same point Obama made.

Let me repeat that.....different words, but EXACTLY the same point Obama made.

Do you people not see how idiotic you are? Olivia?
If the Post Office is downsized or closed, Federal Express will dramatically increase their business. When one of your competitors goes out of business, you benefit. I'm sure Toyota would love to see Honda and Nissan get out of the business. Originally Posted by joe bloe

Now FE is HQ in Mempho, not Little Rock.

Doofie, not at all exactly the same point. But it would be a waste of time to try to explain it to you. The more intelligent ones on here understand.

The President's words are probably taken out of context, but in the world of 30 second commercials and soundbites, that is what Republican Commercials will be playing.

He should have stayed on 'prompter.
Olivia punked by the people who take the quote out of context.

Maybe you should read the thread to get an idea of what Obama actually said before making a fool of yourself, Olivia. Again.

D-Day anyone?

Which is exactly what Obama said. But when he says it, he's an idiot. Which is how it works with you.

Just keep digging that hole, Olivia. Originally Posted by Doove

I will wager the vast majority of oscuminable supporters, ARE NOT BUISNESS OWNERS, but if they work at all, work for someone else, and are jealous, of what the boss, owners have. Myself, having been both, never got into the must have what the Jones's have attitude. I have many friends that have a bigger house than mine, or drive a newer, or more expensive car. I am happy for them, they WORKED HARD FOR IT. I am comfortable with who I am and what I have. To bad that's not what the libs attitude is, it's what can the government GIVE ME. I want the government to LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE.!!!!!
obama is, in essence, exhorting the crowd to TAKE WHAT THEY WANT

"its ours, lets get it" thats the message

the biggest ever asshole we ever elected as president...it is sickening
