A person does not have to hold a union card in order to sabotage a work place. All is takes is one or more disgruntled employees, whether they are union members or not!

You are ALL missing something.

If the alleged acts had not in fact been committed, the union would already have filed one hell of a slander or libel suit against the company and its management, or, at the VERY least, said, in public, on the record, "Show us the proof or it didn't happen."

An honest union, faced with a claim against its members on something like this, would be saying "We need the details so we can investigate it. If this happened, we WILL take appropriate disciplinary action against the members in question."

That neither of the above appears to be happening I find telling.

I hope they find out who and what happened, and if the facts show that these things did happen, then they should nail the assholes hide to the barn door.

I don't think it was union sanctioned, and I don't think all the union members were involved. There should be an investigation, and I suspect that it will show that some of the more militant and ignorant members of the union perpetrated this.

Unions do a lot of stupid things, but they're still necessary in a market economy. Without them the market alone would set wages and conditions so low that everyone would suffer. Before the Union movement in the US manufacturing and other jobs were so bad that the entire economy sufferred from it.

We also need private entrepreneurs and corportations even though most of the time they do really stupid things too.

We also need some limited form of government, like the courts and such, and they do the most utterly stupid things most of the time.
