I agree with the pinup suggestion. I bet those would turn out great.

I'm not suggesting shooting in a Baroque ballroom, but this video makes some good points and the guy's accent is amusing. Basically keep the lighting simple, start clothed then go to nude, tell a story, leave room around the subject to give some idea of proportion:
