What's the difference between a provider and an streetwalker ie Hooker??
If one really has to ask the difference they'll never understand the answers..
The difference is the assumptions we make about them.
I dealt with one provider whom I believe still streetwalks despite advertising online. She had a pimp and the pimp tried to recruit me into his ranks. I was living with her at the time and I found out a week before I moved out that she was being pimped out. Tried to partner up with her again back in late 2009 but she was skeevy and I cut all ties with her, never to speak to her again.
I'm assuming you started this thread to incite, but to answer it as if you were really interested, here's my opinion.
One is location. A street walker is found walking the street flagging down cars and often work with a pimp. They charge less, are less discriminating, and are in general riskier. They sell sex off a menu...$x for a B.J. and $y for full sex.
A hooker picks up men in bars. They can be low or high priced. They mostly sell sex more than time, but can run their business many different ways so it's up the the individual hooker.
A provider can be a street walker, hooker, escort, companion, etc. Basically anyone that providers a service in the adult sex industry. Although, it doesn't alway mean they provide sex as in sensual massage or Dominatrix.
I myself am a provider that is considered a Dinner Companion, Travel Companion, and Escort. The majority of the time I spend with a client is out in public either traveling or spending a night on the town. I personally think it enhances our private time together and add anticipation to the evening activities in a very exciting and pleasant way.
A street walker is advertising she does sex for money, there is no discreteness whatsoever in her game and if/when you get busted by LE, generally a first time arrest for patronizing or prostitution will get your car possibly impounded and get you a fine or a suspended sentence on a guilty plea. A provider, for the most part, is way more discreet, and most cases, more refined than an average streetwalker, however, if/when you get busted by LE, it could be a federal crime due to the initial correspondence coming from this or other adult boards i.e. the internet.
In both instances, it is prostitution, but it is also a gray area, which is why providers will call money received is for time, not services, since you can legally pay for a girl to go out on a date with you and if sex occurs, there is no money that has exchanged hands or tied to the payment for that particular activity. But, for the most part, guys will not pay a provider just for companionship on a date or social function, they pay for the provider for the sex guarantee, sometimes instead of but definitely after said function.
