It is really difficult to look back and say what could have been, any change in your past would also change your present outlook on life. Only if one is unhappy with the present would they want to change the past. You look at the past to change the future. Actually the things I would change wouldn't change the outcome of my life.

I simply wouldn't have put up with some of the situations I had, because everyone around me said this was a shallow empty world and there wasn't more to be expected. Had I known there was hope for a greater sense of respect and dignity, where I could feel fondness for the men I bedded, I would have lived with less and waited patiently until I developed a kinder clientele.

I would prefer to be friends with the men I have sex with - whether casual or partner. The two are not exclusive, and when combined make for much better sex. I can understand a familial type of bond being awkward though.
