that's one idea for a "living" constitution the left mightn't like

The oath is as serious as the oath for fair and impartially when considering impeachment. So, it's not that serious.

Reagan was imprisoned with Confederate Vice President Alexander Stephens at Fort Warren in Boston, where Reagan spent twenty-two weeks in solitary confinement. On August 11, he wrote an open letter to his fellow Texans urging cooperation with the Union, renunciation of the secession convention, the abolition of slavery, and letting freed slaves vote. He warned of military rule that would enforce these policies if Texans did not voluntarily adopt them. For this, he was denounced by Texans. He was released from prison later that year and returned home to Palestine in December.

Return to public life

To those who felt that the Reconstruction was unduly harsh, his prescience was hailed—he became known as the "Old Roman," a Texas Cincinnatus. He was part of the successful effort to remove Republican Edmund J. Davis from the governorship in 1874, after Davis attempted to illegally remain in office after he had lost the election.

John Henninger Reagan was a pussy who flipped out when he couldn't do two weeks in jail without writing a letter that contradicted his convictions. When he returned to Palestine he was hailed a false hero. 1 [Although Cincinnatus has long been considered a heroic representation of the virtuous Roman citizen, there are some historians who doubt the story altogether, claiming it to be nothing more than a myth.]

every one brings their beliefs with them into everything

the leftists bring their idea of morality with them and their feelings of slights and , as compared to conservatives, have been known frequently to adjust rulings on the law to fit their ideas and feelings

as opposed to leftists, amy coney barrett, much like other conservatives, is constrained by the written text of a law and how it comports with the written text of the constitution, the meanings of which have been fairly distilled by prior proper court analysis

I'd say there are fewer self imposed constraints on leftist judges

the nature of being a conservative allows for the constitution to be a shield and sword for us all

whims of leftists don't afford one the luxury of being secure in the law

in regard to acb and being a practicing catholic, the left fears a proper constitutional application much more than her religion, though as a conservative she is in many ways held to the stasis of prior court decisions. the left would fear any conservative justice nominee, but certainly they do detest the religious.

and many irreligious people have pointed out the absurdity of the constitutional right to an abortion.

I watched a good deal of the hearing today and I kept thinking why don't they just ask her the only relevant thing they want to know, "will you do what President Trump tells you to do"? She would say no, I"m an independent jurist and it will be my opinion rendered, not the Presidents.

That's it folks, were done! Every single Democrat said the same thing "Trump nominated you believing you will over turn Roe and you will over turn the ACA". Will you do as you are told Judge Barrett? "I'll make my decisions without any input from the President or the people that advise him", she would say.

That's it because she can't answer questions directly on how she will rule on those two cases. Oh wait, one more. "Will you vote for Trump to be President if the election is to close to call or irregularities are found"? Same answer, "I'm not a rubber stamp for the President".

Her credentials and intellect are not in question. Her religion is not being challenged to any great degree. Even Fienstein isn't going there.

Welcome to the SC Associate Justice Barrett.

speaking of 1984... or did we speak of it?

but no matter

between facebook and twitter blocking the new York post story abt biden

there's another 1984 moment that happened during the senate judicial committee hearing

the dictionary changed the definition of a word during the hearing to fit with the dimocrats attack on acb

Merriam-Webster on Tuesday changed its definition of “preference” to note that the term is “offensive” when used in connection to an individual’s sexual orientation, just as a Senate Democrat was criticizing Judge Amy Coney Barrett for using the term during her Supreme Court confirmation hearing.

Until at least September 28, the dictionary had defined “preference” to include reference to sexual orientation, but on Tuesday, the official definition was edited to include a note that the word’s usage in that context is “offensive.”

And as usual, Tucker dug up a half dozen times when Biden has used the out dated and insulting word ( according to Hirono ) "preference". Maybe Senator Hirono ought o tell her leader how out of touch and insulting his words are to the LGBTQXYZ club.

OH, and just for good measure, there was a clip of RBG saying the words "sexual preference". The more Democrats try to tell us how bad we are, the more they point out their own hypocrisy.

ACB has behaved with intelligence and class - and avoided all the traps and pitfalls the lying DPST's are desperate to draw her in.

They make themselves what they are - small, man-spirited control freaks dedicated to their own power - nothing More.

Hirono - if they win - and shut down all fossil fuel use in their Amerika - I look forward to seeing that fat, nasty hirono take the long swim back and forth to her hawaii.
