Question for our esteemed Mod

Wakeup's Avatar
It’s obviously an individual right that this board cannot regulate. I have posted that multiple times, and I’ve done it for a couple reasons.

The first thing any moderator in this forum learns is that some things that are blindingly obvious to the rest of the board population are going to be spectacularly misunderstood by the posters here. The next thing moderators here learn is that the best way to get past all the misunderstandings is to simplify the point and repeat it over and over again. Sometimes it sinks in, sometimes it doesn’t, but either way, Staff has done all it can to help the membership here at that point.

Do you feel sufficiently helped?

Men need to have Premium Access; women need to have an Upgraded Female Account.

What part of Guideline #22 isn't clear?

#22 - Each member's signature line is an extension of their ability to express their personality to others online. We offer a relaxed and flexible set of guidelines for our members and staff to follow regarding maintenance of their signature area.

If I haven't corrected someone's signature line in here, it doesn't need to be corrected. No Staff member is going to answer direct questions about what is and what is not permitted in signature lines. Staff is not here to give you a roadmap to try and skirt the guidelines after we give you that direction.

If you think a signature line is in violation, then RTM their profile and mention it. If it stays up, it stays up. If it comes down, it comes down. Don't ask us to give you hints on how to skirt the guidelines. Originally Posted by Wakeup

Now maybe I have been amiss and not found them, but please point me in the appropriate direction.

The sixth post in this link:

https://www.eccie.net/announcement.php?f=5

has the information referenced. Given that he is one moderator, and we and many of us have not passed the kindergarden civility exam, take at least one moment to use the available resources before harassing him. Seriously. It took one click to get to this information. ONE CLICK. The description of that click has been discussed thoroughly in previous posts.

This is kindergarden level stuff.

it seems a compromise was reached, the "upgraded" accounts for providers aren't free anymore, as a step to ensure the account is what it appears .. to ECCIE at least. The site decided to allow "upgraded" account holders to be rate in in their sig line, as before but now only "premium" members can see it.

at some point after the site came back the site announced once the ladies got "upgraded" status they could put rates in the sig as a "premium" account feature. the caveat? only other "premium" members can see it.

As mentioned, this has been announced before. Y’all are intelligent, and are more than capable of helping yourselves with a minimum of effort. Well done y’all.

Thank you kehaar. I appreciate you bringing me up to speed on this. HOWEVER perhaps these guidelines should also be made available in a somewhat more OBVIOUS thread.

The link to the guidelines is posted in a very obvious place for every member in every thread...in their main menu panel to the left...as has been mentioned multiple times already...
chefnerd's Avatar
It would be more appropriate as a sticky at the top of the forum. How many members go to their main menu panel on a regular basis?

Where in my main menu panel did this genius think I would look?

Staff can only make this so simple...there is a point at which no amount of help will suffice.

It is simply stunning that so many have no idea what the guidelines are that they are beholden to...have no idea where to find them...let alone have ever read them...

So what you are saying is that your IT folks think everyone here is an idiot.
