GRUMP'S in Granbury for really great burgers ...eat the peanuts and throw the shells in the old tin buckets ..LOL Right on Hwy. 377 as you drive into town
First Kaylee, it is clear that you live in town. Great thread, and I have been to most of the places you mentioned.

My recommendations:

1. Come Taco on Fitzhugh - When someone says "street tacos" in Dallas, they mean "we're charging a lot more for a taco". From having eaten several Mexico City street tacos, this is THE PLACE in Dallas for them. Salsas made fresh every few hours, most tacos $1.50. Cheap and tasty.

2. Strangeways - While you are there, less than a block away is a bar that used to be a "hobby bar". This was a speakeasy where the waitresses served way more than drinks. Today it is a family run place with really great "South of the Border" choices, including a highly acclaimed elote'. If that isn't enough, great bartenders, and the best beer selection in Texas.

3. Chicken Scratch/Foundry - The best chicken biscuit sandwiches you will ever eat. Between a bail bonds shop and a (now torn down) abandoned trailer park. The Foundry is a super cool, chill joint. And 21 and over always. Chicken Scratch is next door, and allows children.

Be forewarned Dallas suburbanites, these places appear to be in rough neighborhoods. That said, I have been to these three places about 100 times combined - and never been approached by anyone.

has awesome food as well. It's definitely a hole in the wall but the food is great and the service is wonderful.

I was a huge fan of kinoko in downtown Plano. It closed way before I tried everything on the menu. If anyone knows a place similar, ffs let a bitch know.

Ill recommend "La Paloma" on 75 @ Walnut Hill and "El Tizoncito" on Lemmon west of DNT ... "Taco Diner" too ... all this places are Authentic Mexican Food, not Tex-Mex ...

Now about the tongue tacos YoYo, you'd never know is tongue if cooked and prepared properly ... It is a soft and tasty pulled meat ...
Try it, you'll be surprised ...
