BBJ for me is low risk compare to BBF. We all know in this 'funtime' has risks. However I am much safer getting BBJ from a provider here than from bar chicks.

My understanding is that the genitals are a breeding ground for STD's of any type. That's why they are considered sexually transmitted.

The mouth, with it's saliva meant for breaking down tissue and killing invading germs, is a hostile environment for those same bacteria or viruses. It's possible that they can be passed but it is usually through an open sore or such, not ingestion. Originally Posted by boardman

I have not been privy to the information you seem to have gleamed from getting/giving oral. So now it appears HPV , a virus we could easily vaccinate for but do not because of attitudes like yours of no government mandate...throat cancer is on the rise.

Now, about 70 percent of all throat cancers are caused by HPV, up from roughly 15 percent three decades ago. Patients are now more frequently middle-aged husbands and fathers who are economically well off, nonsmokers and not particularly heavy drinkers. Men are three times more likely to be diagnosed than women with HPV-related throat cancer.

What is genital herpes?

Genital herpes is an STD caused by two types of viruses. The viruses are called herpes simplex type 1 and herpes simplex type 2.

How common is genital herpes?

Genital herpes is common in the United States. In the United States, about one out of every six people aged 14 to 49 years have genital herpes.

How is genital herpes spread?

You can get herpes by having vaginal, anal, or oral sex with someone who has the disease.
Fluids found in a herpes sore carry the virus, and contact with those fluids can cause infection. You can also get herpes from an infected sex partner who does not have a visible sore or who may not know he or she is infected because the virus can be released through your skin and spread the infection to your sex partner(s).

But stds remind me of used cars you may be doing the right precautions to keep you safe but you have no idea what they did before you... So you have to be extremely cautious.

This is not really directed at you but at some in this thread that seem to think nothing of giving a bbbj but act as if folks are loony doing bbfs.

If Im not doing bbfs but bbbj Im taking just as much risk because I have no way of knowing if the guy has participated in unsafe activities before me.. No one is completely safe even if you participate in covered activities but still kiss you are fooling yourself if you think you are actually 100% safe.. your just as dirty as the ones who do bare back anything..

It basically states that even when you are using protection some stds can still be trasmitted thruskin ccontact.. So protection or not we are still at risk
DM is on track.

If you don't want any new germs, stay home.

Generally speaking that is. Perhaps a government mandate against dick sucking would solve the problem.
