No, I did not. But I did vote Libertarian for Congress. And Pompeo already knows I think he's an idiot. I told him that in person. More gently, of course, but he got my point.

If I were you I would be quite concerned about his first three nominees. They all are all of a similar cloath. If they have their way you will be reminded a lot of Joe McCarthy.

I'm mainly concerned with who he will appoint to the Court. I doubt he will name anyone to his Cabinet that will make me wish I voted for Hillary. That would not be possible. I may not like them, but I knew I wouldn't like everything when I voted for him.

He is for unlimited surveillance and indefinite detention. I can see why you support him. Besides, I have spoken to him on several occasions. He's an idiot, and a danger to freedom. You should do your own research and quit relying on others for your opinions. Originally Posted by CuteOldGuy

When you spoke to Mike Pompeo, did you call him an idiot and a statist? You're such a charmer. I've met Michael Hayden. He is way more impressive and informed than you or anyone else on this forum.

Btw, I research topics much more thoroughly than you do. I do it for my own edification. Too bad your mind is always closed. You invariably dismiss the fruits of anyone else's research as government or MSM propaganda.

Look it up. You don't trust my research anyway. And no, I did not use the word idiot. I was respectful, as I am in all my RL interactions. But the point was made, on those two very issues.

I have no doubt Pompeo supports surveillance and detention of terrorists, as do all good Americans. It's sheer hyperbole on your part to say he supports unlimited surveillance or indefinite detention. You copped out because you know you can't find a single instance where he said that.

Right?

Didn't you call me an idiot in here at least a couple of times?

And this was your call ... "Mr. Genius"

"Trump will likely go down, and take the Republican Party with him. So, at least something good may come from this. Maybe a party with some anti-establishment balls will take its place. Trump didn't lose this election. The Establishment Republican Party lost it. The Party did not want any of their pre-selected candidates. Jeb Bush would have never been close. Cruz would cry when Hillary played dirty. Rubio is a kid. Christie could handle her, but just isn't much different. Nobody but Trump had a chance to win. And now he doesn't. So, he is doing the next best thing. He is destroying the Establishment, Paul Ryan, Lindsey Graham, John McCain, Jeb Bush Republican Party. Thank you, Donald.

And remember, as FDR said, "Presidents aren't elected, they are selected." "

Yes. I voted for Trump. Over the course of the campaign, my opinion changed. First, Gary Johnson was a different candidate than last time. I don't know what the hell he was thinking. Then Trump started telling the unfiltered and unvarnished truth about Hillary. I really respected that. I have mentioned this on here a few times if you would pay attention. After reviewing the situation as it unfolded, I decided that Trump was the most acceptable alternative to Hillary. My primary driving force was Never Hillary. Nearly every Establishment Republican opposed Trump. He was doing something right. I'm still surprised as hell that he won. That does kind of bother me. But I'm going to give him a chance. He won't be as bad as Hillary certainly would have been.

Trump was the only apparent anti-establishment candidate with a chance, however small, to win. I like his stand on borders, SCOTUS nominees, and normalizing relations with Russia. Other areas, I'm not so fond of. Pompeo being one of them. But he's no worse than anyone Hillary would have appointed, so that's a wash.

And you are not always an idiot. But sometimes you are. I just think you should know.
