They were INCUMBENT DEMOCRATS that lost. Incumbents are re-elected at a 90% clip. If Bush was in the WH, the Dems would have won those seats. What Trump did was HISTORIC in the Senate races. Now their control is firmer.
It's strange how 2 months or so ago, when so many on this board were predicting the Republicans holding onto the House and some even predicting a net Republican GAIN in the House, winning the House was important. As the days passed by and Republicans winning the House became more unlikely, the attitude mysteriously changed. and winning the House became unimportant. It was all about the Senate. From Trump on down.
