Luckily, no. They are using 2018 if you haven't filed a 2019. If you have filed 2019, that is used.

Once I had a lady whom I still to this day consider a friend and yes she is a provider. Several years back I had a car wreck and my funds were at an all time low. The smart ones do pay taxes for multiple reasons. Several self employed titles are possible. And if the do careful but honest tracking of expenses it keeps their taxes reasonable (and educates them about what they are actually betting per hour).

Hopefully that same Trump hardline is used for companies that have avoided a fair share of taxes (cruise industry) and those that were floundering because of poor management and now claim it was the virus (a couple here that I know fit the bill).

There’s no doubt sex workers should be eligible for stimulus (government aide during Corvid 19) if they filed taxes. That said not all but very likely the majority under reported earnings. It just depends on their motives for showing a higher income to qualify for a home or car or a lower income to avoid taxes. I’m not saying they cheated the system. Practically anyone who is self employed can and will manipulate reported earnings but most other tax payers do not have this luxury. So if you didn’t pay your fair share you really can’t complain too much.

I also would help providers that I know. I have always left the door open for that but most of the time it doesn't happen. It would be times like this that it would be important or beneficial for them.

The ones which I have kept in contact with have retired.
