No, Lenny. i want assimilation into being American. some guy named Teddy said so.
this is exactly where we are today, because of inclusiveness .. it has given rise to divisiveness
and then there is the massive racism. of black people. their black privilege. their disrespect of the law.
white people aren't the problem. stop acting like they are. Originally Posted by The_Waco_Kid

Theodore Roosevelt on Immigrants and being an AMERICAN
"In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man's becoming in very fact an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."
—Theodore Roosevelt, 1907
For the DPST's - history cancellers all - Theodore Roosevelt Jr., often referred to as Teddy Roosevelt or his initials T. R., was an American statesman, politician, conservationist, naturalist, and writer, who served as the 26th president of the United States from 1901 to 1909.
He is respected by thoughtful, intellectual readers for his concise, pithy way of writing and communicating.
-by other than those DPST's for whom history stops at Che', and have knowledge of lenin, Stalin, marx, or the horrors and millions they caused to be slaughtered. I would include all of the leftists posting on this board in that group.
Fair enough-- I'm the dumbass that keeps logging in. Not like I need this place anymore.... Originally Posted by Grace PrestonEntertainment isn't always supposed to be enlightening.

are you as smart as Einstein? No? then you aren't equal to Einstein and no matter how many books you read and degrees you earn Einstein was still smarter.
as you as fast as Usain Bolt? No?? then you ain't equal.
are you as rich as Billy Gates? No? then you ain't equal.
what you want is impossible. and stupid. by your logic you would remove 99% of Einstein's brain to make him as dumb as you, 99% of Bolt's legs to make him as slow as you and take away 99% of Gates's money to make him as poor as you are.
so what would this result in? not the grand utopia you claim, but a society of dumb, slow, poor people.

If that child in the most tricked out classroom in the world with Einstein actually teaching the class goes home everyday to that drug addicted mother and father, they have a slim to none chance of making it and guaranteeing them a government job, with a guaranteed paycheck doesn't mean they will be a productive member of society with out which no society can survive.
If and when we take away the goodies that come with hard work and achievement gained by personal responsibility, we have lost the game. Give 100 kids the same access to the same education and a large percentage will fail unless we guarantee each and every one of them the same degree of nurture and nature. It can't be done and while we could do better in the system we have, there is no substitute for it. None. Originally Posted by HedonistForever
