Are Women Smarter Than Men?

I think everyone can agree that people in prison are not living successful lives and by that measure alone, women are ahead of men 7 to 1.
There are plenty of women that are living off social welfare programs or seeking other support from the Government. Single mothers mostly. That's not exactly a "successful" life either and the majority that do this are women.

Yes, you are right about that.

There are numerous factors that contribute to a successful life, but many people born in poverty have managed to find a way out while others languish in there as a way of life.

I think you can always find a way out if you are smart enough and determined enough regardless of your gender.

I doubt Anita was being serious with her suggestion for I.Q. tests and besides such a sample would be much too narrow to yield any meaningful results.

I had no illusions that such a profound question would be settled here, but I thought the debate would be thought provoking and entertaining.

Women have been made great strides in the world and maybe one day the USA will have a woman President and we will see how well she manages the country.

Germany already has a female leader and that country is actually the most stable one in all of Europe so there is legitimate reason for hope of more advancement for women.

Just a silly question, I've met very smart women and men, as well as very dumb women and men. I've also met very smart people that have no common sense about the simple things in life.

One thing I thought I should mention is that I have met some very intelligent people both men and woman who have NO common sense what so ever. They lack social skills. They can tell you everything there is to know about many things yet they are lacking in other areas traumatically. Example: I know a gentleman who has never been hunting or fishing, never been to sporting event or concert. He has never been married and has not dated in 10 years (Watches porn!) Yet he knows everything there is to know about tax shelters and investing. Big difference between being smart and being worldly! This is the guy who would let a provider take the money to buy something and think she is coming back! LOL
