NFL and Houston Texans Superthread: Are we ready for some football?

Championship Sunday is set.

AFC:
Jaguars @ Patriots

NFC:
Vikings @ Eagles

My predictions:
Even though the wins won't be easy, the Patriots and Vikings will come out as winners and will go to the Super Bowl. It will be interesting to see the Vikings play a Super Bowl in their own building.

If the Vikings make an appearance in the Super Bowl, they will be the visiting team.

(of course all this is if the Vikings beat the Eagles)

C'mon Man, I expected an "Eat a Dick Artie Burns"!!!! Was it Ike Taylor, the last dick eater? At least the Steelers make the playoffs and have a shot, unlike the McNuttless led Texans. Wonder how much longer Big Ben will play? He is still pretty fucking great!!! Without Big Ben the Steelers would be mediocre at best. Although Bell and Brown and other receivers are very talented. Definately not the Steel Curtain any longer. Giving up 45 to Bortles and the Jags, C'mon man!!!

Congrats to the Eagles and Nick Foles.

Now how in the hell does a team go thru 3 head coaches in 6 years and beat a legendary/HOF coach and QB? They don't have Rick Smith as a GM.

Just look at his stats for 2017 according to ESPN:

http://m.espn.com/nfl/playerstats?playerId=3122840

A quarterback rating of 103.
That pretty much says it all.

Watson performed extremely well with all-pro Duane Brown holding out and with the less than average offensive line the Texans had in 2017.

The Texans averaged almost 35 points per game with Watson as a starter.

Still need a QB. Watson may be out for the first part of season. If Watson can stay on the field he might be something.

Although the Texans averaged 35 points with Watson playing they were also 3-3. Need a better defense

Agree, the defense needs to get better as well as the special teams.

I think they take an O-lineman. However it would be interesting if Lamar Jackson is still there at the start of the third round, so they take him? I would

Another possibility, is if they see someone they like in the second round they trade up, and possibly give up a future round draft pick to get their guy, whoever that may be.
