NFL and Houston Texans Superthread: Are we ready for some football?

Looking around the web, next year JJ Watts cap hit is around 17MM. Watsons is 35MM. Trade both. We can get much needed draft picks too.

Also trade away the guy that says "And other Houston Texans FIRST DOWN!"

Rebuilding isn't a bad idea with the right coaching staff. A first time head coach doesn't need to be rebuilding. Leave rebuilding for someone with experience.
Hiring Culley is a huge risk. Sporting news ranked him 6th out of the 7 new HC hires this off season.

Why does anyone waste their time and money on professional sports ?
Find a couple of good video games instead.

Remember.....the sports teams have nothing to do with the city !!
It is a marketing ploy by them.
Like Madden NFL 21?

I have given up on them entirely. If they somehow keep watson they will win at most 5 games, if they don't they will win at most 2 games. This new coach is as clueless as the front office.

Until either Easterby or McNair die off this team will be like the old Cleveland Browns. Never a fucking good move ever.
So Watson wants to pull a Hardin and get out of Houston....Don't let the door hit ya!

This is interesting Goff and PICKS were traded for Matt Stafford....In addition to Goff, the first pick in the 2016 NFL draft, the Rams are set to send the Lions their first-round picks in 2022 and 2023 as well as their third-round pick in the upcoming draft

I'm hearing the Lions ate at lot of salary.

The Texans need fresh players and players that don't take up a whole bunch of cap space. Let Watson go...

Currently, the ESPN power rankings don't have any team worse than the Texans next year.

NBC power rankings have the Texas dead last as well.

NFL.com has them way up at 28.

The Lines betting website also at 28.

the RINGER, on the bottom.

CBS sports has them at 30.

Way to early, but I think this coming year is going to suck.

Being reported that J.J.Watt has been released from Texans.

J.J. wants to play somewhere else.

What a fuk'n disaster this franchise is turning into.

Trade him for a some draft picks but don't just release him. I guess getting rid of the $17.5 million cap hit is more important. I'm sure Watson is even more thrilled. Hope they can pick up a QB and some FA with that money. The draft isn't going to do anything for rebuilding because they don't value draft picks. They just released a few possibly.

Free agency? Who is going to want to come play in Houston? I'll tell you, some washed up FA's with a year or two left before they realize they should have retired 2 years ago.

What a fucking disaster.

Its the nfl.

Still sad to see Watt leave. He has meant so much to the Houston area. 100% Class!
Watt asked for and received his release. No trade. He's free to negotiate with whoever.

Total shitshow.

Your best player on Offense and your best player on Defense want out.

Time to start firing the front office. New GM and coach included. The best players have already sent you a "No confidence vote."

Will the NFL step in and get new owners? Didn't the NBA do that when the Cleveland Cavaliers started cashing their draft picks about 30 years ago?
Reading that Carolina has offered Christian McCaffrey and three no 1s. Miami has offered their QB and 2 no 1s draft picks.

Right now I'd trade Watson for a couple of generators and a few hundred feet of PVC.
Now reading that Watson will sit out 2021 Season if not traded. Doesn't he have "no trade" clause in his contract where he can reject any trade? Texans would be foolish not to trade him.

It's unusual to trade someone until right before the draft. So Watson may be getting ahead of himself.

Fuck Watson and Harden. Put their ass in Iraq with our troops. Let them show us how good they are there
