Nothing, and I mean nottagoddamnthing, will change with the Texans until the McNair family sells the team. Since that will never happen, enjoy your 4-13 seasons, Texans fans!

It's like deja vu all over again.
At least Caserio is doing something. Not sure if he'll be able to give his next head coach much in the way of talent. Not this year anyway.
Byron Leftwich was getting a lot of love from the commentators during the game yesterday.
I read that Jim Harbaugh might be eyeing a NFL comeback. Might be a long shot and he will be expensive.

Josh McDaniels seems like the guy Caserio would want but he may be comfortable riding out his time to take over for Belichick whenever that is.

With only 1 black HC in the NFL, Tomlin, there will be pressure on all teams looking to hire Eric Bieniemy. Why he wasn't hired last year is telling that he either has some baggage no one is talking about or he is a terrible interview. His record at KC is beyond good enough.

Lovie Smith? Really?
Dude had 1 great season, a couple of decent seasons and a bunch of mediocre or bad ones.
Winning percentage .506
And Eric Bieniemy is still the KC OC. Un-fucking-believable

Starting to feel a lot better about the Texans. The Lovie Smith hire has put the team on the right track. He hires HIS GUYS and not buddies of Jack Easterby. Lovie's staff is made up on guys that Jack and Nick would probably never interview. Good to see he has been given the freedom to hire who he wants. And it appears he is going to put an end to Nick butting into the head coach duties. Nick has an eye for talent in the draft and if he can put together a good draft and Lovie coaches up the team they might do ok.

So the cancer has been ripped out and heading to Cleveland.

Did not see that one coming.

Glad they got what they wanted for him.

Just spit balling here, Why not work Baker Mayfield into the trade? From the sound of things Cleveland has to trade him or face about 18m in dead cap money if they cut him. There is no way he stays in Cleveland. They are now over a barrel of sorts and will likely have to give up more than they want to move him or face the dead cap. The Texans currently have 1 QB on the roster. Mayfield would be an upgrade.

Maybe it's not that simple IDK.

Baker Mayfield does not fit the Faith Family Football culture of the Easterby/McNair Texans. Plus I think they want to actually see how good Davis is & only spend money on a genuine backup level QB. Baker you would have to actually pay starter money. Paying him 25M a year to go 8-9 isn't ideal. Follow the script of drafting your guy & having them on the cheap for 4-5years.

Then again, The ATL Falcons did just trade Matt Ryan for a 3rd straight up ti Indy. Maybe they should of asked for Baker & flipped him for a 3rd or 4th.

Preseason and the Texans looked ok, not great, not good just ok. Seems to have found a running back and just like the Texans they had him listed as 3rd or 4th string.

Interesting post by McClain that Jack Easterby is being stripped of his powers. No longer allowed on the side lines during games and no longer allowed to have a headset and be part of the coaches conversations. Kicked up stairs.
Looks like we have to wait and see. With all of the changes, some may cancel each other out.
Let's give them a chance to win (nod, nod. Wink, wink.) If we jump on them too soon, it could be a self fulfilling proficy.

They are a last place team in a weak division.
