Question

It surprises me a bit that so few people seem to have had good experiences in this type of thing. Originally Posted by Nick11796

Nick, there are valid reasons why only about 1/2 of first marriages do not end up in divorce, which means that 1/2 DO end up in divorce. IMO the goal is to reduce the "valid reasons" to a minimal, if not inconsequential, level to increase the opportunity for a successful marriage. That means first selecting a partner that has the fewest possible "warts" rather than planning on spending lots of time at the "dermatologist's" office.

I would say just you asking indicates a "valid reason" or two, and you know it. It's ok to say "no," and move on.... and its a helluva lot cheaper, and less stressful.
This is getting good. Post #72 was the iceing on the cake

I hope I am still alive in a year or two when the title of the thread is "how could I have been so fu-king stupid".

One lady says "follow your heart". Sort of like the Crocodile telling the Gazelle, "come on in, the waters fine".

Come on Nick, you say she is 15 years younger. Well, I am 64, and I am not so stupid as to believe some hot chick 15 years younger than I am is going to want ANYTHING from me except that big bulge in my right rear pocket.

.... I never kept anything of value in my rear pockets .... doesn't earn much back there......

.... and I have been with her longer than other lady.

There are ladies who prefer the company of older men ...

... don't have to train or raise them.

In none of my comments have I raised age differences, because I do not believe that to be significant as a factor. I was concerned about "background" issues related to how they met, her "issues" with financial self-control, AND Nick's apparent concerns by posting the question AND his recent confusion about whether he enjoys the company of men or women.

Go to the chalkboard and write... PRE-NUP, 1000 times...
Relationship of a "non-sexual nature", Jeeze, gettin played without gettin layed.. not good..
I'm not against a relationship with a provider, not at all, but beware.. She has been places with he body and her mind that sets her apart.... and not all in a bad way...

Just lay down some rules... provider or not... PRE-NUP !!!!!

Does the old joke "Why do women smile on their wedding day ... Because they know they've given their last blowjob." apply to providers who marry?

Time to start a pool....

I figure a 10x10 grid, makes for 100 betting spots.
Should the increments be in hours, days, weeks, or months?

Seriously, I wish you all the best.
I am a betting man though, and I am going to have to bet on "don't pass" this time.
My lady is a great companion. From a sexual perspective, she does not want to do some of the things that she did in the "business" and I do not ask her to do anything that makes her uncomfortable. In that way she is like most wives.

A prenup is not really useful in that if something happened to the relationship, I would still feel an obligation to support her so she would never go back into the "business" again. She knows that.

We have been together (and she has been "retired") for over two years. We are different in a great many ways, but our relationship has grown closer as time has gone on.

She would not consider it unfaithful if I used escorts on business trips, but I have not felt any need or interest in doing so.

O K Nick..............Few days ago you put this premise to us, and except for a few idealists/dreamers, the response has been almost unamious........And looks to me like you're still trying to justify this to all the skeptics among us..........You might want to take your case to a completely neutral party, like a psychiatrist, and give him/her a chance to listen and comment. What you're contemplating is a really big deal, and if you're wrong, the comfortable life you're living is probably shot forever.....Time to hold this plan up to the light before you jump.........
