Perhaps someone from staff can answer this question: is it true that some of these "private social groups", as SD2011 described them, pay for members-only forum space on this site? If so, doesn't that create a conflict of interest if the person paying the bill conducts himself or herself in a manner that wouldn't be tolerated of a rank-and-file member? As far as conflict of interest do you mean would I treat anyone who had a forum different than another member here? No, since I am not a part of them I could not tell you who has one, so there is no conflict for me, I would also say that if I chose to take action against someone who had a private forum that I would be supported 100% by the boards management.
Most board action that is taken is generated by the members RTM's. If the membership feels action should be taken the best response is an RTM with a reason. That creates a report that anyone on staff can then view to see what is taking place with a link to that thread.
So the rank and file is where it starts and the rules apply to us all.
