But that's why I have the "13% rule" as a general application.

Multiply the advertised weight by 13% to get a closer estimate.

It's like buying tires for the car. Add 20% for drive away cost!

BTW: Your showcase is gone. So you don't even post a weight ... or pics!

When I first started, I was naive and didn't realize that people lied about their age and weight (how dumb was I). Had a lot of guys disappointed by how small I was back in the day LOL.

If so, that's a basis for my 13% rule. Problem is the reviews support the misrepresentation, either out of an inability to accurately estimate weights or an attempt to ingratiate themselves for a reduced rate at the next session.

So she goes and increases her rate 60% overnight.
Whoo lord, get a life. And maybe some reviews. You don't even know why you are being a hater.
Im a vegetarian though, what a waste of decently thought out insults. Originally Posted by tiatate

And Ice Cream. And soda. And cheese pizza. Hell, I know several vegetarians who seldom actually eat vegetables. You don't get back rolls and flying squirrel wings from eating a salad.

Back to the OP-- not that she's listening-- a good rule of thumb is that if you are getting more business than you can handle, its time to raise the rate a bit. When you raise it, be prepared to ride it out for at LEAST a month or longer before you consider changing it again to suit your business needs. Have enough in the bank to cover not making shit while the clients adjust to the change.

Likewise with age. I think I look pretty close to my age, but both in and out of the hobby-- people usually estimate me to be about 8 years younger than I am. Conditioning from magazines gushing about how "young" a particular actor or actress look. No.. not really, you're just used to how unhealthy people look at a certain age.

It's not only unhealthy it is unsightly. That's just my opinion.

As for monitoring my own weight I can tell within a pound or two what I actually weigh according to the scales at doctors' offices, by simply feeling my clothes when I put them on. And just to make sure my scale is accurate I weigh at home on the way out the door to the doctor's office wearing the same as I am going to be weighed at the office, because I want to know if my scale is accurate in comparison. It's not space science.

Now if one is advertising "looks" for money ... deception might get them to the door and they'll stay just because they are there. Of course the deceiver can hope they either won't review or won't tell the truth.

I've been bashed, left and right, on here for raising the issue.

The issue is not being "overweight" ... it's the DECEPTION. In the Real World ...

it's called ... Deceptive Trade Practice .. aka business fraud.

Yep. I've always done my best to keep my posted weight within 5 pounds of my actual weight at any time..

The smaller I get, the easier it is for me to estimate my weight by my clothing. The best part is to watch the numbers on those tags go down.

For me, it isn't even about the hobby anymore. At this point, I haven't yet decided if Grace will even return after I'm recovered. It's purely about health. A major health scare will really knock some sense into the habitualy lazy when it comes to diet and exercise.

You are probably familiar with the sites, but here's one:

https://www.myfooddiary.com/

A fantastic "diet" tool for planning, implementing, and tracking one's intake .... plus the major grocery chains (Kroger, HEB, etc) have online access to product labeling (their own brands too) so that one can add those products to their "food bank" on the website to monitor mineral etc. intake ... One has to input the data ... but it is amazing how it can work for someone ... wanting to control and/or needing to control intake of any minerals, calories, or fats.

There are other such sites, but they may be different.

So much has been said. I'd say....if you are too busy at your current rate, then increase slightly and monitor your clientele. Also remember not to lose the ones you have by gradually letting them know they are at the same rate but giving them a brief period to adjust, i.e. give current customers a short period to adjust, maybe a period of time for grandfathered rates. In business, alway think of customers.

Also remember your clientele changes when u increase and u may have to drop some as well since supply has a bottleneck. Better money = more expectations of service delivery. All these people saying x, y or z, don't know ur business as well as u do. It's all up to u.
