An interesting thread and I like seeing it in this forum instead of reading it in the powder room.
While the topic may seem to be more significant to the providers, there are things hobbyists should know to look out for their safety as well. Of course, we all know their are males involved in the industry in one way or another and they should know some things, too.
I have had the privilege of observing a few things from the perceptions of many and many more have shared their expertise or lack thereof with me. I have a few suggestions since Eve asked about the topic, both with hotels and apartments.
* If I live in the same apartment complex as you, I am not paying the outcall rate if you come to my apartment.
* If you rent to or from someone in the hobby and you want to lease it for a long time, keep it a separate and cash business. Everyone stays happy longer that way.
Hotels:
I don't like them, but they are a necessary evil at times. They are easily staked out and the staff
does pay attention. Having a friendly clerk helps, but if he is too friendly, you and a lot of other girls are going to be there. It is best to rotate between 4 or 5 hotels if you can, especially if you are doing any volume. Houston is a bit like DFW in that the city of Houston itself does not really have the resources to cover its territory and busting a few escorts who are being discreet is not huge on their list. The smaller townships and adjoining cities and jurisdictions do have a better eye and read the hotel guest lists. If possible, stay in the Houston city limits.
Apartments:
I like them better. Gals still need to move from time to time unless the turnover around them is high. It also depends on how conspicuous you are. Lets face it. Some of you look like hookers or strippers.
Don't eat where you shit. In other words, if you can maintain or share a separate incall with someone, that is best. If you live there, a separate bedroom for sessions is better than your own bed.
I know this economy sucks, some of you have some problems that got you here to begin with, so you work with what you got. Just remember that it is an office of sorts. The hobbyists impression is based on everything he sees during his visit. A much nicer incall is the biggest difference in the lady that charges $50 or $100 more. Make that bed, have the place clean, and take the dog to the taxidermist.
Just kidding. I love dogs.
Location:
Not entirely sure about Texas, but I am pretty sure that if you are located near a school zone, you get more charges that get pretty serious. So check the area before you sign a lease by driving around. Ask the leasing agent, telling her you prefer a more adult community that doesn't have that kid noise. This also avoids communities of people with families who have some fucked up sense of morality about raising their kids near a brothel.
Key points: no school zone, adult communities. If section 8 housing is the best that you can do , then at least your clients get to go strapped and may do some other business while they are there.
Accessibility, viewability:
There are more and more mid-rise apartment complexes that are large, have parking garages, and no visibility from anywhere but in the hallway you happen to be in. These are ideal because they are hard to get good surveillance on and if there are no security cameras in the hallway, no one knows your business and rarely sees who comes and goes. Clothing, pimped out cars, and lots of parties are not a good idea. Discretion means
not attracting attention. These mid-rise communities are usually filled with younger people who you will blend in with. These young people are fairly aloof and self centered so if you don't mess with them, they will not even notice you. Sometimes, there are a few "hookers" already with their hoopties or pimped out rides and the AA gentleman who looks like he is ridin dirty. With 1,000 or more tenants alray there, you need a few to draw the attention away from you. If you are a true professional escort, then you will not look like a hooker when you come and go.
Key points: Mid-rises are good for blending in and a lot of traffic. If not an option, at least try to get one where it is hard to see which exact apartment someone is going in.
Moving:
*Get boxes, have all your shit packed, and hire movers. Your hobby boyfriends don't want to move you, don't want to get bitched at for doing it wrong, and not get some pussy for doing it. That is why we got divorced. Unpack and set up the bedroom first. Get it done well. we can forgive you for the first two weeks if the bedroom and bathroom are looking good. It really does go both ways, ladies. We just get to talk about it on the board because we paid for it. We all know 90% of all men keep their bathrooms and bedrooms in such a state that you would not go back if you were not getting paid.
I am sure I have a few other tidbits of wisdom to share and if I think of them I will post them too. Eve and everyone who read my drivel, I hope you find it helpful.
