Obama's very vulnerable because of the way the electoral college works. Originally Posted by theaustinescorts

Leaves us Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan. Florida is up for grabs but unless the jobs outlook increases in those 3 other states and unemployment goes down, all 3 will go Red in frustration. I read just yesterday that MI and OH have 8 of the top spots in ' cheapest place to buy a house'; no shit, there are no jobs either and I think the way the map unfolds, Obama simply can't pull off PA and OH. If he gets lucky in Michigan ( He will claim GM as a sign MI has turned corner which it hasn't) and takes the Wolverine State, stick a fork in him if he loses PA and OH where unemployment is going to rise by summer 2012 when voters make up minds..

Slice the pie anyway you want, people in the PA-OH-MI region are not better off than they were four years ago, in fact, much worse...

He can't ride the 'Osama Bin Laden is dead' express to re-election, he needs results here in America. This is Obama's economy now, not Bush's. Wall Street isn't talking about Osama, and Americans will care not about Osama in 2012 but Obama and the fact they are still broke four years later

Well at the rate things are going there is more than enough time to turn things around on both fronts...especially if the GOP nominates a fool like Perry.
What I want to know is, what's so poor about the economy? We've had nothing but growth since Obama was elected. Other than unemployment, which by the way has come down if ever so slightly, we've just about recovered from the recession.

I agree that the employment issue is structural, but no one is going to just accept it.

There's a lot that can be done to increase growth and employment, and that involves fiscal policy.

Now, maybe you can try backing up your claims with some bonafide data, and if you wouldn't mind, please share with us exactly what fiscal policy needs to be implemented.

Interesting you brought up Jersey, KC. Heavy union state. Not likely to put up with any Palin/Perry/Polenta/Scrotorum economic disaster talk. You're from near there. Folks in the cities aren't going to fall for baloney again.

I predict a lot stronger turnout by unions next year. After Wisconsin, I think you can expect energized union members across the country in fact.

Don't think there'll be another disaster like Ohio in 2004.

That's my opinion. The D's could fuck it up too!

As I recall, Kosher was the first person on the old SHMB to be on the Obama bandwagon and also the very first to get OFF the Obama bandwagon. Is my memory correct? If so, Kosher tends to be way ahead of the curve. Even when I disagree with him...

this was such a happy country with high hopes that beautiful night in Grant Park in the fine city of Chicago, smiles on the faces of many who cheered on B.Hussein.O.

now those same folks are unemployed and headed back to the polls, hopefully after four years they too will get off the bandwagon...so America can move forward..

and Italian Beefs should be served in all 50 states, Obama at least could have delivered that, and he might just have my vote !! Anything for a large beef, dipped with hots..

I'll take an Italian Beef NOW goddammit! HONGRY! Gonna have to settle for a "steak" in Philly next week! (Ginos? Pats? fuck 'em both ... I like D'allesandro's! More shrooms, extensive pepper bar and better provolone!)

I don't think all of those people are unemployed KC, but it did make for poetic repartee.

In fact, my business is better this year than it was last and the year before. Not as good as it was before Newt's revolution in 1994, but better than it was under the burning Bush!

And better than last year.

Reducing my credit card debt. Making more money. Paying less taxes. Buying less pussy, but better pussy.

I'm happier now than i was a couple of years ago. I'm even happier knowing that if things REALLY go south, I'm married to a dual citizen!

Why'd you add all that shit to the end of your post, btw?
