No, WTF, the essence of my complaint is that the whole exercise is an expensive, intrusive charade. I'd be glad to replace it with a cheaper one or a less intrusive one -- preferable both. I have no delusions that anything will be more "effective". Nothing will keep another attack from happening.

It appears most of us agree that no matter what happens with security, an attack will happen. However, there is nothing stopping the passengers from taking matters into their own hands.
BTW, I'm one of the people lumped in with the gop and I'm not in favor of the patriot act and don't believe the govt can protect me/us any better than I/we can protect myself/ourselves.
