We need to find a permanent fix....not a temporary one....and a bit more discussion would be timely... Originally Posted by Sarunga

It's not that hard. You have the ability to lock the threads that you know need to be locked for you to kill all the bull shit. Want to stop it longer? Kill any new threads on it for a while. I don't see what's so hard.

Yeah, but do you honestly think that will work? Or will there be colateral damage in other threads? Closing threads early only tends to make things fester.... Remember all the beef with the "lynch mob" and Sofia/Jasmin & Rafe fun times? I don't think its as cut & dry as that.....

Moderators are not allowed to just lock threads. Some of you know there are mods that would if they could

Have nice broad rules that allow the mods to make judgement calls. Tell the worst offenders to cut out the BS. They'll ask for specifics... don't supply them. "You're a grown adult. Act like it. Don't be a jerk to other members." is pretty much all the instruction an adult should need.

That's the key to dealing with this sort of situation. Troublemakers will want to play amateur lawyer and find loopholes. You're not a judge - you're a bouncer in a bar. Bouncers don't argue specifics. They give patrons one chance to stop the BS, then they toss them out.

So those who won't get with the program get a vacation, and when they return, the vacations get progressively longer.

Problem solved.

Locking threads isn't the answer. Attitude adjustments are the answer. It's just like dealing with teenagers, or assholes in a bar. Either grow up or get out.

Jesus... Blowpop has a great idea, and I applaud his nobility. But, this is the hobby.
We have no laws in our hobby, or we would have hobby 5-oh to avenge the many wrongs that go on in the provider-client relationship. And to be honest, ECCIE is about a forum, not the pussy peddlers, and I would get bored with out some assholes.

So how do we accomplish this "attitude adjustment"?

So your idea for the change to cure the problems of the Houston forms is to ban people who "act like jerks" and don't "act like adults"?
