You have, without knowing it, made the case for republicans and democrats effectively switching political ideologies. The Democrats of 1869 are the Republicans of today.

Hahaha, stuck on that bullshit aren't ya. "The Party Switch" The KKK back in the day were Democrats they had a lot of power and influence. Today they are a powerless group of nobodies. It's not bullshit. It's been well documented. If you can't understand the simple idea of a party shifting its ideology over time, you have the imagination of a fucking ant. This is not even really up for debate, it's simply a fact. The good thing is, your recognition of it is not necessary. It exists without your consent.

How is control shifting not a party shift? You're just parsing out language at this point.
John Connally was one such person, who moved to the Republican Party. Originally Posted by LexusLover

As for your Reagan quote....you make my point. Look whose paying to support republican beliefs. Openly racist hate organizations. Originally Posted by timpageNo, I didn't make your point.

But you appear to be deliberately missing Reagan's point.
His beliefs and values weren't for sale at any price. If you wanted to give him money to follow HIS program, he would take it.
We don't know why the hate groups are giving the GOP money. Even they know there is no way segregation is coming back. Most likely they donate to the GOP because they think they are the lesser of two evils.
Kind of like when I voted for Libertarian Bob Barr in 2008 instead of McCain and Obama instead of Romney in 2012.
I didn't like Barr or Obama, but they were the lesser of two evils and the GOP needed to be punished for electing two mopes in a row. Originally Posted by ExNYer
